Hello everyone! I am so happy to be writing this post after a HUGE week!! This time last week I was working on my World Race Gap year application, and so much has happened since then… I am officially a part of 2021 Gap Year Route 2!!!! I’ll be living in Guatemala, Cambodia, and Eswatini (Swaziland) for 3 months each… a DREAM!!! So crazy!
In this post, I want to explain how I got to this point and why I am going on the World Race. I have learned so much about the Lord over the past year and His heart in our calling as believers. We are called to love God and love others, whatever that may look like in our day-to-day. I have seen Him be so faithful again and again when I simply walk in that calling in every little instance of my life, no matter how significant and “world-changing” it may seem by my standards. Over the past few years I’ve gone on multiple mission trips to El Paso and Guatemala, and through that, the Lord has given me a HUGE love for ministry and what it looks like to partner with Christians from different backgrounds and cultures. I think one of the things I love most about the Lord is how He can bring such diverse groups of people together to work towards a common goal… furthering HIS kingdom and loving HIS people well. So… I decided to commit a year of my life to that: joining with other believers from all different backgrounds so that we can live and travel together and share the love of God with people all over the world. I am so excited to see how the Lord is going to use this chapter of my life to change me and make me more like Him, since that is the ultimate goal!!!
