hello everyone!!

My squad has been in Hammond, Louisiana working with Samaritan’s Purse for a week now, and we have one more week left here! We have been doing manual labor every day for about 8 hours, and it has been exhausting but SO rewarding!

In just our team we have witnessed 3 salvations (PRAISE GOD), we’ve gotten to encourage and be encouraged by believers in Louisiana, we have given away around 10 bibles, and prayed for tons of people who are going through physical or emotional disasters!

We are working in the Hammond area and helping with yard cleanup, cutting and pilling brush, cleaning out homes, sorting through belongings, tearing out drywall and insulation, and cleaning mold from homes!! It has been an honor to be able to help out people who don’t have the resources or means to repair all the damage from the storm. Even as we go into homes ready to help, we almost always leave more full and encouraged by the homeowner and their gratitude! It is so cool to be in a posture of helping others but also getting to see the Lord use the same people to speak to us and encourage us right back! How cool is the Lord?!?!

God’s presence has been so evident even within our teams since day one! With long days of working outside and doing a lot of heavy labor, we got really tired really fast! It became evident by the end of day one that we would not be able to make it through two weeks of this ministry in our own strength. BUT—in our weakness His power is made perfect, and those words have held so much weight over our entire squad this week! When it feels like we can’t do another day of early mornings and exhausting work, He makes a way and always provides more energy and strength and patience and grace.

This time in Louisiana is forcing the squad (me included!) into a new level of dependency and we are praising the Lord for it! Having a foundation of trust that He can and will provided EVERYTHING we need is exactly the posture we needed before launching overseas! After this week, we head back to Georgia for a few days to debrief and rest before hopping on a plane to GUATEMALA!!!! Its been a long time coming for us and we couldn’t be more STOKED to see everything the Lord has in store for our next little chapter!

Please continue to pray for us this week if you think about it! Pray for energy, paitence with each other, and more divine appointments! Pray that we would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as we work and be able to discern what He has for us each day! Thank you so much for reading and for keeping me in your prayers, it really means the world and makes so much of a difference!!!

His love + mine,

bree
