Hello!! I am so excited to share some HUGE news with you about my life after the Race.

I am going to Romania. THIS SUMMER!

The Lord has been working in my heart so much over the past two months and I am more than excited to announce this!! I will be going to Craiova, Romania for about 7 weeks to work with their evangelism ministry and with Ukrainian refugees!

I am working with Hope Church (I will link their website at the bottom of this blog) and I am so excited! They are a long-time partner of Adventures in Missions and when my squad was planning to go to Romania as our last country we were going to be working with them.

We found out around a month ago that we would not be going to Romania for the last two months of our Race due to some safety concerns under World Race protocol. This was heartbreaking news for me and I went through a few really hard days of wrestling with the Lord and feeling a lot of heartbreak. I felt confused and began to question if I had heard the Lord right when He was speaking about all He wanted to do in and through me in Romania. As I prayed and talked to some of my squad mates about it, I realized He was asking me to wait. As much as my frustrations made me want to leave the World Race, I decided to stay and to go to Ecuador for the last two months with my squad. As soon as I fully surrendered that and started praying into what my summer looked like (“Hey Lord, maybe I can work at a summer camp or get a job at home or go visit all my friends and family?”) He put it on my heart to start looking into going to Romania. Within a WEEK I was in contact with the church, all of my questions were answered, and they were waiting on my yes! Everything fell into place so beautifully and it could’ve only been the Lord.

I’m excited for this opportunity because while I’ll be partnering with a church and group of other missionaries already there, I will be going alone. This is such a huge step for me in taking ownership of everything I’ve learned in the past 9 months on the field and getting to start to see what life as a missionary really looks like outside of an organized program!

I am SO excited and would love to answer any other questions you may have! I am fundraising for this opportunity and my goal is $3,000 (this covers my flight, housing for the entire time, food and transportation costs!). I have so much faith that the Lord is calling me here and I am confident that He will provide. Please reach out if you’d like to support me monthly—that is the biggest need right now considering I might extend my stay after August if there is still a big need, or I have the potential of going back on the field with AIM this Fall as a Team Leader. One-time donations also mean the world if you feel that’s where the Lord is calling you.

And of course, PLEASE keep me in your prayers!! Pray for a sweet finish to the Race, and good and quick few weeks at home, preparations and flights, a fruitful time of ministry this summer, and clarity on mu next steps this fall!

I love you all so much!! If you’d like to donate please reach out and text me. I am going to be using Venmo and my account is @breeself

His love + mine,

bree

  3. I want to go with you!!! I just read a devotional thought / prayers for young adult children this morning about God’s mercy. The gist of it is that as parents of young adults, it is my fervent prayer that my children will not only know the depth of God’s mercy, but have endless compassion to share His love and mercy with a hurting world. You see a great need, Bree, and are stepping out in faith to follow the burden God has allowed you to carry in your heart for these people. Go, Sister! Be blessed, be fruitful, be safe, be HIS.
