Hi everyone! My squad and I have been living in Guatemala for 3 weeks now working with Adventures Guatemala and their ministry partners! It has been so incredible already and the Lord is working in countless ways! I wanted to take a second to walk you through what a day in my life here looks like, I hope you enjoy!

6:30 am (ish) – I wake up and get ready for the day! each team of 7-8 has a room with bunk beds and a bathroom and shower! (the beds & hot showers are HEAVENLY after 5 weeks of tenting!)

7:00 am – breakfast time! our squad eats all together and we have two fabulous cooks on base (Theresa & Sandra)! We also pack our lunches for the day during this time.

on Tuesdays and Fridays we do “deep dive” after breakfast with our base elder, Kevin. We take around an hour to worship and look at a small passage of scripture together. This is becoming one of my favorite times of the week!

8:45 am – leave for ministry! On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays my team goes with Manuel (an Adventures staff member) to his ministry that he started with his girlfriend Myra. We have a group of 20 kids that come to the program and we teach them English, bible stories, and feed them a nutritious lunch! On Tuesdays we work in a town called Parramos at a church and we do house visits and English class in the afternoons!

3:00 pm – get home from ministry! some afternoons we will head to a coffee shop to get a snack and some wifi, run to the store to grab snacks or toiletries, or take a hammock nap on base! every day looks a little different!

5:30 pm – dinner time! our cooks prepare another meal for the whole squad! after we eat a few teams take time to clean up the kitchen and bathrooms on campus!

6:30 pm – team time!! we do something different as a team each night of the week (similar to Training Camp Georgia)! Debrief, Gratitude, and Bible Study are just a few of the things we do!

7:30 pm – free time!! this is time for showers, cleaning, devo time, MOVIE NIGHTS, and hanging out with friends!

10:30 pm (ish) – bed time! I go snuggle up in my cozy bed and get some much needed rest before doing it all again!!

this is a typical weekday schedule! We have weekends off of ministry and we get to do a little bit of exploring and take some extra rest time! Weekends have looked like trips to Antigua, lots of coffee shop runs, cooking our own meals at the base, sleeping in, and visiting some local churches!

I am absolutely loving life here in Guatemala and the Lord is teaching me a lot about serving out of an overflow of love from Him—the base staff here has been incredible at modeling that for us and it’s a joy to get to know them and learn from them. The culture in Guatemala is beautiful and the people are some of the kindest I’ve ever known! Thank you so much for reading and I hope this helped you to get a little view into my life right now! I miss you all so much and I am so thankful for your support in making this opportunity possible!! I can’t wait to share more about my ministry with you soon!

His love + mine,

bree
